If the T-piece is installed at the end of a section, fixing bar must be welded onto the main pipe.
Wires for surveillance are embedded.
All preinsulated T-pieces are as a standard delivered with 4 embedded wires: 2 copper wires and 2 tinned wires in the main pipe and 4 tinned wires in the branch.
The tinned wire always runs into the branch, whereas the copper wire runs straight through.
The wires used for installation are always the 2 wires at the top.
This means:
- the copper and the tinned wire at the top of the main pipe must be connected to the two wires in the pipe which are to be connected
- the two tinned wires at the top of the branch must be connected to the two wires in the pipe which are to be connected
The wires at the bottom of the main pipe and the branch should not be used.
In this way the parallel T-piece can be used for branching to the right as well as the left with a standard wire run in the casing joint.
Application
T-pieces parallel for TwinPipe in series 1 are reinforced to withstand axial forces corresponding to stresses of 330 MPa.
However, in case the main pipe and the branch have the same dimension, T-pieces can only withstand axial forces corresponding to 190 MPa.
